Bereavement Services

A sudden loss can leave us feeling shocked and bewildered. If we are away from home, in a country where language and procedures are unfamiliar, we feel vulnerable and alone. We want to help you as much as we can.
British Citizens can visit the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website, to find the address of their nearest British consular representative overseas. Click here to download a copy of the Foreign Office leaflet which describes what help is available. Visit www.fco.gov.uk/bmd to find out about registering the death of a British Citizen overseas in English. Citizens of other nationalities can find their London embassy or high commission on the Diplomatic List at www.fco.gov.uk

The first days following a bereavement can be very difficult, so wherever possible, we will try to find someone who can help in resort. Whether this would be assist in your departure to the airport or just to be a friend to help in a foreign country, where you may not speak the language.

When you arrive back in the UK and if you are arriving into a London airport we can also assist by meeting you at the plane, assisting with collecting your luggage and through customs to meet and greet your relatives at the arrivals lounge who may have made arrangements to collect you from the airport. If this is not the situation then we can, at your request and expense, arrange for a car to take you home.

For information about funeral payments in England and Wales, please visit the DirectGov website www.direct.gov.uk. A number of organisations which offer help to bereaved families are listed on the Metropolitan Police Bereavement website www.met.police.uk/bereavement/

If there is anything we can help you with that has not been mentioned above then please do not hesitate to contact us.
